Why Goods Movement Matters - by the RPA in collaboration with the VREF 

Produced by the Regional Plan Association and the VREF's Research Centers, this report about the strategies for moving goods in metropolitan areas has for purpose to highlight the importance of the good movement system. It has also for aim to provide an overview of the research the VREF Initiative on Urban Freight centers have completed for policy makers, developers and other key decision makers.

This brief produced by Regional Plan Association, in close cooperation with the three Urban Freight research centers inititated by the VREF, is available in Chinese, English, French and Spanish.

Similar to each center’s mandate, this brief focuses on urban freight and the challenges faced in metropolitan areas and their urban centers. The wide range of challenge and solutions presented in this report reflects the varying political contexts and experience of urban areas worldwide.

The research and input from each of the research centers is incorporate throughout the brief, with no division of authorship across sections, stressing the coherent network supported by VREF.

Moreover, a website is available as an interactive version of the report that summarizes key content and includes among other items links to relevant CoE research.

The VREF invites PhD students and researchers in early stages of their career to apply for a Study Visit Grant to be supported with up to SEK 30 000.

The VREF invites PhD students and advanced master students from Sub-Saharan African (SSA) universities to apply for a Mobility Grant (MG) to support a visit to another SSA university with up to SEK 25 000.

Lee Schipper Memorial Scholarships for Sustainable Transport and Energy Efficiency targets supporting the momentum of Lee Schipper’s contribution to the international policy dialogue in these fields.

This yearly award is aimed at supporting young individual researchers and students in is pursuance.
